But where does ‘fear’ come from?
Fear is a ‘learned’ behaviour; we are not born with it.
We are born ‘fearless’ and the world is our oyster. Life is one gigantic fascination and as we all know, toddlers will seek out everything in their humble exploration of the home and all it’s contents; balancing themselves precariously, without any fear of falling off of the chair, if it means that they will be able to reach the shiny little object that they have been spying. Of course, some ‘fear’ is beneficial as acting upon some of our fears can keep us safe and secure. When a baby puts his or her hand out to touch the radiator which is hot, we say NO, and get the child away from a possible burn. We take the child to school in the morning and we have to watch for traffic as we cross the road. We in-still into the child to ‘always look before you cross the road’. These of course are ‘real’ fears, and we have to be the ears and eyes for young children and vulnerable adults alike.
But then when we get to adulthood, we find that the fears become prolific, our field of ‘fears’ widen. In the United Kingdom we have to fear cameras following us everywhere we go, 24 hours a day. We fear driving too fast and getting caught on CCTV, not having the legal requirement of tread on our car tyres, not having our car taxed, having no insurance, ensuring that we do have insurance even if we cannot afford to keep our car on the road….yes, you still need to insure it, even if you can’t drive it! Ask anyone in the UK if driving their car is still the amazing and wonderful experience it used to be before we had hundreds of motoring laws heaped on us. There is the fear of putting ourselves forward for a promotion at work, are we good enough, can we do the job? We have fear of rejection, fear of people maybe considering it a joke that we even applied. Unkind as that would be, these fears are still as influential as any fear we have. We still have a certain amount of adrenalin and other chemicals pumping around our bodies when we are in fight or flight mode regardless of the reason for the fear.
As a child we have the fear of not passing our school exams, the fear of not pleasing our parents.
By the time we reach adulthood you’d think the ‘fear’ of anything on the planet could never even affect us one iota, surely with all the ‘fears’ we had encountered through our youths, this would have rendered us immune to ‘fear’ at all.
But, then we have new and unfamiliar fears to cope with, fear of aliens coming to earth, fear of another country invading our country, fear of terrorism, (we all know now that the USA/UK governments foreign policies make them the biggest terrorists in world history) .
By government keeping it’s people in fear, and instilling into us a never-ending and pro-active fear such as fearing terrorism, and criminalizing certain innocent peoples, governments have a never-ending enemy, and a reason to go to war. Drumming up the peoples support through the governments miss and disinformation and propaganda, which is all plain and unadulterated LIES.
But you might say, our governments don’t want war!
They try to make peace…..!!!!
Well sorry to tell you, but the USA is the worlds foremost leader in making wars in our modern age.
And guess what, the USAs’ main manufacturing industry is the WAR industry, not only using these weapons to make war and kill little babies and old men and women across the world, but selling these weapons to other countries, for masses of profits.
So will there be an end to wars and fears in the near future? Not on your nelly!!!! Not whilst the USA/UK etc., continue to bomb, mutilate, kill, burn, pillage and rape victims across this, our beautiful world and STEAL the resources of peoples who should be rich considering they are the countries rich in diamonds, gold etc., and yet these people are so poor that 400,000 of these people face death and starvation in 2012 alone.
Fear…No thanks!!!
